X-ray Probe

This X-ray probe is one of Bicron's most popular models. Its detector section consists of a cleaved NaI(Tl) crystal detector with .005" thick beryllium entrance window mounted in a housing behind a removable brass collimator. The collimator slit measures 1/8" x 1/2". A low-noise photomultiplier tube, optically coupled to the detector within the housing, connects to a low-noise voltage divider with FET preamplifier. We supply the probe with 12' long cable leads that terminate in a BNC connector for the signal, SHV for the high voltage, and an Amphenol connector for the preamp power.
